Former Presidents and the Circumstances at the Time of their Tenure

Steve Russell 2023-2024

Steve served as President of the Club for this period, and held other board roles prior to this. He has been a very active member since joining in 2019.  Prior to becoming President, he was instrumental in developing the Caramel corn production and sales program.  He also worked closely with leaders at Pentwater school to provide special funding for their travel clubs and music programs.  Steve is also an active member of the Methodist church and other community activities.  His years in the Navy as a submarine lieutenant have served him well as a leader in the community.

Bart Zachrich 2022-2023

Bart was voted into the role of President, bringing his administrative and people skills from his former career as an administrator of Flint area schools. He oversaw the development of PSC programs and worked closely with committee leads to achieve results for members and community. He raised the stature of the Club within the community by working closely with School and Church leaders, as well as Chamber, and governmental officials.

Mark Trierweiler 2021-2022

Mark Trierweiler has been an accomplished and dedicated leader in the Pentwater community for years. He has been very involved in the Methodist Church and the Service Club. In the Church Mark was the Church Council Chairperson for three years. Mark was a two year President of the Service Club. He initiated the important caramel corn retail project. The caramel corn sales promote the Club and provide funds for service projects. Mark is a Pentwater resident along with his wife Linda. Mark is an avid golfer as he joins in with the Tuesday Colonial league.

Glenn Beavis 2019-2020

During his tenure, the club celebrated its 50th Anniversary, donated thousands to the Foodbank, enlarged the club’s volunteerism to include projects like the Community Garden, and its on-going sponsorship of the Hart Performing Arts Series.

Claudia Ressel-Hodan 2019

Claudia served briefly as president after the untimely death of Terry Valenzano. However, Claudia was also serving in many other leadership roles at the time, and decided that it would better for the club’s identity to the public, to have a new president who’s identity would be associated with PSC.

Terry Valenzano 2018

Terry moved to Pentwater from Oakland, CA after retiring from Bechtel Corp. A gentle and generous man. Our only President to pass away while in office.

Ron Christian 2016-2017

Ron has been a volunteer extraordinaire ever since relocating to Pentwater from Grand Rapids where he was a Fire Chief. He served, and continues to serve, under extraordinary personal circumstances, included the death of his spouse.

Bill Maxwell 2013, 2014-2015

Served for three terms and was always big on appreciation of volunteers. He helped expand the products and events of the Duncan Wagon. He was a great motivator!

Sam Morrison 2009-2012

Sam is the only President to serve four terms. He always said that he wanted to finish what he started. Members thought he was a terrific leader and coordinator Famous for ending the Pledge with “GO PACKERS”!

Ted Hosner 2008

Ted passed away a couple of years ago. He was an active realtor.

Juanita Pierman 2007

Juanita was the first female president of the PSC and the first female Village President. She worked in Illinois and Chicago before “retiring” to Pentwater. A perennial volunteer and leader of many organizations and Citizen of the Year.

Tim Roessler 2006

Tim was also the School Superintendent.
